Patrimonio archivistico

The safeguarding of the community’s historical memory, as a tool of civil growth and cultural promotion, brings the interventions for the recovery and upgrade of the archival heritage to the attention of the Compagnia’s allocation policy. The maintenance of the territory’s memory will allow, in collaboration with the State’s Archives, to retrieve documentation that risks being lost, to edit sources, to adopt new technologies, and to update the archivists’ professional training. Other projects will address the rationalization of the framework of sites and forms of management (Casa degli Archivi di Torino), thus contributing to make sure that the project for the preservation and upgrade of the heritage will also include functions of promotion and cultural elaboration.
In fact, the connection between preservation and elaboration represents a fundamental option for the Compagnia in this specific sector. In this area, and with reference to Genova, careful consideration will be given to projects by institutions and associations that, as in the case of Palazzo Ducale, favor the coordinated enhancement and fruition of their heritage and promote initiatives that can characterize public spaces as sites with a cultural life, availing themselves to this end of accurate communication strategies.
Specific attention may be dedicated to music archives where the memories of our musical heritage and of the performing practices are kept. These are points of reference for researchers in music history that can refer to those stores of knowledge of the most European phases in local music history; the promotion of these moments should be implemented through the publication of musical, literary, and figurative materials. Similarly, it seems appropriate to pay attention to audio and video archives contained in the archives of opera institutions.
