5th National Day of Popular Culture
December 13th has been proclaimed “National Day of the Italian Popular Culture Network”: a day of celebration and festivities to remember and heighten awareness of the role of traditions and knowledge passed, often orally, down the generations. Popular culture is by nature ephemeral and easily lost, for this reason i tneeds protecting.
This initiative headed by “Italian PopularCulture Network” has diverse events taking place simultaneously across Italy, demonstrating how popular culture is rooted to the territory, with customs and traditions changing from place to place. Brought altogether they producevitality and a unique combination of popular knowledge.
