“Working on the future”, an exhibition of industrial Torino industriale, today and tomorrow

Torino - 02.05.2011

On May 3rd the member of the Management Committee of the Compagnia di San Paolo Giuseppina De Santis is attending the exhibition entitled “Working on the future. Torino innovates talking with the world” at the Conference Hall of the Museo Diffuso della Resistenza. Tom Dealessandri, Fiorenzo Alfieri, Giovanni Avonto, Stefano Musso and Rosalba Strura will be present, among others.

The exhibition, set up by ISMEL, proposes an in-depth examination on the life of our city from an industrial viewpoint, a different angle compared to the many exhibitions being held in Torino to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification. The exhibition illustrates personalities, social groups, experiences and anecdotes which  made it possible to build a future of progress in line with what was happening outside Italy, escorting the visitor from piazza Vittorio to Piazza Castello.
This vision announces the future Polo del Novecento, the so-called “Casa degli Archivi”, which will be built near the Quartieri Militari designed by Juvarra where ISMEL will place documents and collections of institutes relating to 20th century memories of Torino and which are now scattered all over the city.
Our foundation had a major role in this project during the phase in which the rich and articulated archives were gathered together. This task was carried out in view of the transfer to the Palazzo di San Daniele, the building which will in fact become the “Casa degli Archivi” and which will be restored thanks to the Compagnia di San Paolo’s contribution of  € 7 million.
